14 pieces of woodland music that rattle, scrape and pulse, containing strange samples, percussion, guitars, the music sounding like the high magic of woodland creatures, summoning the solstice spirits to join the party. Favourites include the forest trance of “Otherselves”, the fireside tumble of “Tantum” and the darker charms of “Huffy Bears Last Battle”, which takes the album into drone territory with liberal use of echo thrown in for good measure. Like finding the perfect leaf on a country walk, this is an unexpected but most welcome pleasure.
