Bok, Muir & Trickett - Harbors of Home 1998

This is anoher excellent B.'s link, an interesting folk album. A love of traditional folk music links Gordon BokEd Trickett and Ann Mayo Muir. Although each has performed and recorded as a soloist, their collaboration has resulted in a series of high-quality albums of traditional folk music.
The genesis for the trio came when deep-voiced folk singer and guitarist Bok met flute and harp player and vocalist Muir in 1961 at a ski resort in Vermont. As a duo, Bok and Muir recorded two albums -- Seal Djiril's Hymn in 1972, and Bay Of Fundy in 1975. Although Trickett, a student at Trinity College in Connecticut where Muir's husband worked as admissions director, exchanged tapes with Bok for more than a decade, he didn't join the trio until 1975.
In addition to working as a trio, each musician continues to pursue their own career. Muir recorded a solo album, So Goes My Heart, in 1985, while Trickett has released three solo recordings -- The Telling Takes Me Home (1972), Gently Down the Stream of Time (1977), and People Like You (1982). Together with folk singers Joe Hickerson, Sara Gray, Michael Cooney and Sandy and Caroline Paton, Trickett and Bok have recorded four albums as the Golden Ring.
