Daevid Allen - Seven Drones 1991
Another of the projects hatched during Daevid Allen's return to Australia during the 1980s, Seven Dronesoffers up a series of very gentle ambient pieces, an aid for the meditational practices that Allen (who recorded the album under the pseudonym Ja-Am) was then discovering. It is not an album for anyone with a short attention span -- or even a long one. Barely audible in places, it is aural wallpaper in the purest sense, but filed alongside Eno's early experiments in the same arena, it is at least as intriguing a creation.
